Allowing Win2k active directory users to logon to redhat 9 box.
I'm a n00b at linux. I have installed it a few times but I really don't know all that much about it other than the basics.
Now the situation. We are an active directory university (all microsoft based products and servers for the most part) but my boss and I want to setup a few linux boxes using redhat 9 (or other popular easy-to-use distros) but only allow people to logon to the box using their valid active directory acct.
I have seen mentions of kerbos and samba but its all quite confusing to me.
Is there any easy to follow (read: for dummies) webpage that explains how to set this up?
We basically just want students to be able to logon to the box without resorting to having to manueling adding accounts to the boxes.
Any distros that are easy than others for this purpose?
thanks
