all sound queued while listening to music!
all right, so i listen to some mp3 files, on a playlist, for many hours...then when i press stop, it seems all the sound that wanted to play at the same time as my music files has been queued...and it starts playing all at once...and of course i have gaim open during all this time, with sounds on...so i hear gaim sounds for like 5 minutes straight. does anybody know i can either kill sounds from being queued while listening to music or get it to play simultaneously? it's really annoying to hear 2,000 "buddy has just logged in" sound events in a row.

this was happening to me when i was using the OSS drivers, after upgrading to ALSA i can hear multiple sounds at the same time.

It seems I'm currently using an ALSA driver.
Your card currently uses the ALSA "snd-intel8x0" driver (default driver for your card is "snd-intel8x0") One of these days I'll probably try out SUSE or some other n00bish distro, heh... |
I get the same problem, I'm using ALSA ?
