Here's the situation. I'd like to read my mail in a nice easy-to-use GUI like Thunderbird, but it seems like my mail is disapearing into a black-hole called "nail" never to be seen again. So the questions are:

1. How to I make sure that my mail only gets downloaded when I specifically query my ISP for it and make sure that it never disappears into nail again.

2. How can I get the messages and attachments that are, apparently, below the blue-event horizon known as "Held 385 messages in /var/spool/mail/my_name" ... preferrably in a nice GUI.

I realize that 383 of the messages are probably vi@gra spams, but there may be one or two useful emails in the spool that I'd like to get.

I'm using dialup and SuSe 9.0.
