all files in mounted windows partition are executable


how can I get rid of that? this annoys me when I use midnight commander

Just a thought - I've not looked into it myself...

You can set the umask option (in the fstab or in your mount command) so you might be able to set all files as non-executable. The noexec option doesn't seem to work on my setup, you may have more luck.
