Rock Linux is a linux version that is devoted to keeping things where they should be. It has both binary and source versions available at the site
www.rocklinux.org and includes many packages used by the "normal" linux user. I choose this distro because it should work well with my hardware and be fast (because its like a barebones system, which always makes things work better) and it puts everything where its supposed to be (which was a problem with redhat that really bugged me, along with their renaming/odd configuration of files that they use). I was originally intending to install Rock and Ximian Gnome however seeing as how my order from Ximian didn't come yet (it was supposed to be a christmas present) I can't really mess around with Ximian. I'd really like to get Rock up though. If anyone has an HP S50 monitor and has their X configuration file I'd really appreciate it
. Thanks for all the help you guys have given so far.
