Alittle help to me newbie
 

First of all i just switched to linux from windows (ubuntu :D) and thinks its super cool 8)

But had some problems that even google couldnt handle :(
let me try to explain here.

i got a laptop, (HP Pavilion zd800) whit a graphic card (ATI Mobility Radeon X600) as realy kicks a** :) but cant seem to find the driver that works, was on ATI's homepage and downloaded a installer from there (sh installer / what that so is :S ) but when i launch ATI controlpanel its says: "Driver not provide the FireGL X11 Extensions! Panel components will operate only partially"
dont know what i have done wrong, and dont seem that i can find OpenGL :s

also wanted to ask what you use, to run windows application on linux?, i got CrossoverX? but then i need to install the software from CD's, cant i run it from my already installed windws?? (windows is mounted, and im dual booting or what its called)
how do you also mount in linux?
would really like to get my math program to work "mathcad 13" but dont know how :s

you can run most windows apps through wine in linux: www.winehq.org or .net

also, there are plenty of compatible or comparable linux apps that should do the same if not better jobs as windows apps. example would openoffice.org which is better than msoffice. if you boot to your windows then yes you can run the app you need to use also. in linux, you just open a terminal and : mnt /hda or mount /cdrom or whatever partition you need to mount. if you have a shared partition for windows and linux to use such as partition hdf you'd type : mnt /hdf and go from there. i hope i helped answer your questions.

You may consider Octave as a native Linux alternative to Mathcad.
