Question Aix Idle Users

Hi All please can some one help me
i am running aix ver 5.3 and need to know if there is a way to log off idle users

the users are using a telnet shell program to login and they all have thier own .profile file . I have tried the tmout=1800 optiuon but that does not work for me is there another way to do it automatically on cron or via a script or someting
