ah!..my eyes...help me with my resolution. refresh rate!

Well, first off...I have a Dell Monitor. Its a E770s, for my video card I have a nvidia geforce 5600. (not the best to work with but thats what i got)

What I need to do if posible is find new drivers. My resolution will only let me view 1024 x 768 with a refresh rate of 80mhz. I can get 1280 x 1024 but my refresh rate is only 60mhz, hence the quote "ah!..my eyes". I like small res, but i dont know if my monitor can handle it. Let me know if anyone can get me through this process.

Thanks for readying.

Could someone help me install some drivers? I found some that might work, but I have to be logged in as root and in text mode. I cant seem to figure out how to get to text mode??

Also, when you type..in text or in terminal to finish what your typing automatically...isnt there one key you push?

Say I was typing out Nvidia-pk56-9-34.43-43.run or something like that
couldnt i just type Nvidia and then press a key that will automatically finish typeing it?

Thanks
