Agere LT Modem Driver help
Hello, I need the drivers for an Agere LT Winmodem (rev 2) for Kubuntu 7.10 (if possible). I've tried several different drivers, but they are all for a different kernel version than the one I have (the default kernel version of Kubuntu).
If anybody has a link to the Agere driver, I would really appreciate it.

I downloaded martian in order to install the Agere driver (martian replaces the driver). Anyways, I'm trying to install it, but I'm unable to, as I don't have much experience installing .tar files.
I downloaded the latest package from here-
http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/pack...l-2.6/martian/
Here is the official site-
http://martian.barrelsoutofbond.org/
The main problem is when I enter make install, it says it needs a target. Unfortunately, I don't know what the target is.
I have the .tar in a martian folder, contained under my /home folder.
Edit-I use kubuntu 7.10, and use konsole. Thanks for the help.

There is usually a read me file with the drivers that explain the installation procedure.

Ok, I was able to unpack the martian files, and I installed the kmodule, but was unable to install the martian modem successfully. At the end of a very large install error message, it gives me:
make[1]: *** [main.o] Error 1
Then it leaves the directory, then gives:
make: *** [install] Error 2
Any ideas?

You will not like this one, throw the modem away and get a new modem. I have tried to install two different "agere" modems and fought one for over a week and gave up. I replaced one with an "external serial" modem which needed no driver and one with a "smart link" modem which the driver was in the repository. If this is a console unit you might use an external modem. Most of them set up easy. Some of the internal "soft" modems set up pretty easy with the newer distros. Before you buy any though check out the HCL here and see if the model you are looking at is compatible with linux.

I guess I get a Christmas present then.
If I could find my Stratitec, that would make life easier (assuming it still works).
