After installining mandrake 10.0 WinXP stop working.

I had WinXP & Suse 9.1 on my computer then I tried to install Mandrake 10.0 as another OS. But after install when I tried to load windows the computer said

Filesystem type unknown
partition type 0X7
chainloader +1

When I tried to reinstall windows at first everything was fine but when the system reloaded for the first time the computer said

Error loading operating system

I thing this is the problem either with disk partitioning or with MBR. Please tell me how to fix this problem.

PS I can still install any linux OS on this computer without any problem.

break out your xp disk go to rescue and choose recovery console.

then run fixmbr and reinstall your linux systems with their respective partitions.

There is no more Win XP on my PC and I can not install it.
I tried something like this : I started WinXp install, split my hard drive, chose the partition for WinXp /dev/hda1 , formated it and started the install then during the reload the computer said
Error loading operating system
I did go to recovery console I started fixmbr it said that I have some nonstandard mbr and I said to rewrite it but I still could not start my WinXp . Then I reinstall linux and it warked but I still do not know how ti install WinXP on this machine.

windows often has trouble reading and formating partitions that have been used by linux. i would try using fdisk and mkfs on that partition to wipe it clean before you install windows. also, i have a couple floppies from western digital and maxtor with some basic tools, which i usually use to check the drive for errors and format before i pop the windows disk in. even then i've had to try 3 or 4 times on occasion.
