Advise on Partitian Size - Web Server

I have an 80 gig harddrive. It will primarly be used for web services with a MySQL data base as well. There will also be a small amount of email (just one account).

Also would it be wise that i put the web folders (virutual host) each in there own home directory (\home) or place them all in the \var\www\ partitian.

Thanks in advance

When I'm sizing partitions, I think in terms of capacity and backup. I like keeping all the web stuff under a central directory like /var/www so I can just tar up the filesystem and have all of it backed up. I would also create a /db filesystem to put your MySQL data files. That will allow for clean and easy backups and restores on your database data as well. You can specify the location you want your MySQL files stored at in the /etc/my.conf file. See the manual for details. MySQL has a searchable manual at their website.
