Advise on Linux OS to Install on Hyper-V for Windows 10 Pro

I'm interested in learning Linux and I was setting up a VM on my Dell Inspiron 5558 Windows 10 Pro as a learning environment. At work we use CentOS 6.8 so I was thinking that would probably be a place to start. Any help in deciding would be much appreciated and tips would be welcome.

Distrowatch is good. (CentOS6.8 link)
For me, VirtualBox[.org] is 'ultra' simple/ease & safe.
Let us know how things go. Best wishes & welcome!

If you want for only learning purpose than Ubuntu is good else CentOS is always a great choice.
