Advice on VPN setup

Hi there,

I have installed a Linksys WRV54G router on my network, and after many hours with Linksys and my ISP (Comcast), I have come to the conclusion that I cannot use the Linksys as a VPN endpoint for multiple reasons. So, I have come up with another idea, and I am hoping I can get some advice from you:

I am going to set the Router as a VPN passthrough, and use a linux server as the VPN server. I have been looking around, and I see that OpenVPN or something like it looks like it might do the trick. Now, here is my setup:

I have the server I want to install the VPN on (FC2), and then 2 other servers (both running RHEL3). I will be accessing the network externally from a laptop running XP Pro.

What I would like to achieve (if possible) is to tunnel into the network and be able to access all the servers (and other machines on the LAN) using the local IP Addresses or machine names (I am looking to set up a LAN DNS server of the same FC2 machine as well).

My question is, what do I need to install on which machines to have them all linked and avalialble, and to be able to tunnel from behind a router soenwhere else, and should I use something like theGreenBow as a VPN client on the laptop?

Thanks!

Robin.
