Advice on running java applets in debian?

Hello all, I am looking for some help if there is anyone able to/willing to oblige.
>I am running Debian on a mini PC, the PC has a touch screen.
>I am connecting via ethernet to a java-based controller (controls the heating/ventilation plant of a building) with an IP address.
>I browse to the IP, log in and the java loads, once the java has loaded I briefly see the controllers interface screen before getting kicked out again, and back to the log in screen.

This happens with chromium, ice weasel and epiphany.

Any suggestions I'm really pulling my hair out with this one!

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this.

Alex.
