Advantages and Disadvantages of using IPv6

Hi,

I use a 4G wifi hot spot to connect to the Internet.

My Lubuntu PC receives both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses

from the hotspot.

On many networking forums I keep reading about people

getting asked to disable IPv6.

So I want to know the advantages and disadvantages of using IPv6 .

In the not so distant past if you experienced networking problems one of the solutions was to disable IPV6. If all of your hardware/network fully supports IPV6 and your not experiencing any network connection problems there is no need.

Yes, I read many threads in different forums mentioning to disable IPv6.

I am facing an issue but I am not sure if it is related to IPv6.

I happen to be a member of a distro forum. When I login to that forum

and compose a post and finally when I am ready to post I get logged out

automatically. I reported this issue on that forum and an admin replied

saying that my ISP changes my external IP too frequently.

Again I don't know if this is related to IPv6.

Assuming your using a router/MODEM then networking settings on your PC as far as I know should not be a factor.
