Advanced file copy

I have looked at freshmeat and google but i cannot find any kind of advanced copy program for linux, I'd like to run it from the terminal and be able to resume failed copies and have a progressbar, almost like wget but for files on mounted filesystems.
Is there any program like this? - The most important thing is to be able to resume failed copies!

For a progress bar, here is a thread you may find interesting:

As for resuming failed copies...... May I ask as to why you are having failures on your copy command?
