ADSL slower in Linux, faster in Windzo

Hm.. I don't know why my ADSL (Diva Eicon) is slower in Linux and considerably faster in Windzo?

Could you expand on that a bit? Have you run speed tests with something like:
www.dslreports.com/stest
To see if it's actually faster? Is it possibly your browser rendering? (try lynx in the command line to see, or any other browser)

Cool

Hi

I saw something on this somewhere, it had to do with usb adsl modems.
In general there were speed problems using usb, sometimes in windows
sometimes in linux.
Certain mobo chipsets caused this, in windows they had to upgrade
their drivers. In linux i did n't see a solution. (at least in the article)
So are you using an usb modem?

enjoy

Yes I have the same problem. Webpages take longer to load, I've not tried downloading a file yet.

My modem is a Speedtouch USB, The flat green thing

... At least it's working

Kind of strange cause I also have a Speedtouch modem and it is slightly faster under Linux than Windows Xp by a margin of 1-1.5%.
