ADSL Modem Gateway

I am a complete and total newbie with Linux so please help!

I have a fresh install of Redhat 9 and am trying to configure my internet/network connection. The NIC in my PC is working (no problems there) it is connected to a Netgear DG824M Wireless ADSL Modem Gateway, which has router/wirless/ADSL connections all built in along with DHCP and NAT and all other kinds of magic things. I have tried seting up the network connection using the Redhat Tool but all I get is a message sating perhaps a cable is unplugged.

Everythnig works fine for my Windows XP setup.

Do I need to install anything extra change any settings.

I really don't have a clue!
