adsl mail download

Hi all....HELP!!...
I am trying to sort out someones mail server for them as Their IT guy has left and now their mail has stopped for the past 5 days. Here;s the deal. They can send but nothing comesin. I have checked the proxy's and it looks correct. They run a box with SUSE 8.2 and when I go into console and type fetchmail -vvv it responds with no mail server specified. Where can I start looking. The ISP say they have alot of mail backed up but the box does not seem to connect and authenticate correctly.

I don't use the aplication myself, but if I were in your place I'd probably read http://www.catb.org/~esr/fetchmail/fetchmail-FAQ.html and
man fetchmail
