Adobe prevents Mozilla firefox
Attempted to relaunch Mozilla Firefox - Adobe fails to execute and prevents Firefox launch. Web browser fails. Unable to access web. Please help.

Please tell us which is your distribution.
How did you launch Firefox ? Did you use a menu, click on an icon on the desktop or typed a command ?
Did you get an error message ? If yes, please post it.

Regarding Distribution: Linux Ubuntu release 10.04 kernel linux 2.6 32-41 generic gnome 2.30.2 hardware memory 992.9 mib.
Regarding the launch of Firefox: Clicked on Desktop Icon. Firefox was installed into synaptic - adobe upgrade broke firefox file - attempted reinstallation of Firefox through . Ubuntu - firefox error message received - attempted adobe removal and reinstallation of firefox and received error message. Unable to locate specific error message.

I do not use Ubuntu, but I would try to completely remove adobe (by the way, do you mean Adobe Reader or Adobe Flash Player or both?) and Firefox, then install again Firefox.

Did you install/upgrade adobe flash via synaptic or did you try to upgrade it via a link on a webpage?

attempted complete removal of adobe and firefox - firefox browser fails to relaunch - adobe flash plug-in unable to remove -
error message reads "E;adobe flash plug-in; sub-process installed pre-removal script returned error exit status 2"
Also received error message "failed to execute child process/home/accrc/.adobe/flash_player/assetcache/2hlx4epw/3c82b2a2455b252b8595fdo113249aa19d7e8bdd.heu" "permission denied"

sudo dpkg --remove --force-remove-reinstreq adobe-flashplayer or whatever its called

You should be able to start firefox in safemode.

adobe flash has corrupted mozilla firefox web connection unable to reinstall firefox and unable to delete adobe flash. please advise on step by step as to restoring system, as am beginner with linux ubuntu 10.04. thanks.

Kindofabuzz: firefox was on the desktop and adobe destroyed firefox and all attempts failed to reload from Ubuntu. can you explain root? thanks.

Open your file manager go to usr>>share>>applications>>firefox double-click on firefox or go to usr>>bin>>firefox

received error install package - could not lock/var/liv/dpkg/lock-open resource temporary unavailable - unable to lock the administration directory - is another process using it?
