Adjusting Display

How do I change the screen resolution and the refresh rate? I'm using gnome, by the way.

Actually using Gnome has nothing to do with changing the resolution in many cases. What distro are you using helps us ?

You can change your resolution by editing your /etc/X11/XF86config file or if your using Redhat, Xconfigurator to change the resolution, SaX with SuSe.. and so on.. search the site here, this is asked all the time.

If you are using Red Hat Linux, go to virtual terminal #1 by pressing ctrl-alt-F1 and login as root then type "Xconfigurator"
