windows/printer/samba/share

I am much confused. If the user top end is windows, perhaps look to the ** sever software; if linux look to users and groups and associate one with another.Samba I know nottle.

You can add a windows shared printer using CUPS. But you will need proper printer drivers installed on your Ubuntu for you to print using the shared printer.

If you need a graphical interface for CUPS, you can use your own browser! Navigate to http://localhost:631/ and use that graphical representation of CUPS to find and add printers. It's not a web site, so when it asks for your computer's root password you're not sending it to some web site, you're just giving yourself access to CUPS.
