    Stream #0.0(eng): Video: h264, yuv420p, 640x336 [PAR 1:1 DAR 40:21], 25 fps, 25 tbr, 1k tbn, 50 tbc
    Stream #0.1(hin): Audio: aac, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16
    Stream #0.2(eng): Subtitle: [0][0][0][0] / 0x0000
At least one output file must be specified
I tried
Code:
ffmpeg -i MediaFire4U.Com_Rbt.Dd.Hnd.mkv  -f avi -vcodec mpeg4 -b 600k  -g 300 -bf 2 -acodec libmp3lame -ab 96k robot-maybe-dvdrip.avi
Stream #0.0(eng): Video: mpeg4, yuv420p, 640x336 [PAR 1:1 DAR 40:21], q=2-31, 600 kb/s, 25 tbn, 25 tbc
    Stream #0.1(hin): Audio: libmp3lame, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16, 96 kb/s
Stream mapping:
  Stream #0.0 -> #0.0
  Stream #0.1 -> #0.1
Press [q] to stop encoding
#This was just conversion to avi NOT ripping
This clearly indicates subtitle stream is not embedded in avi.

AVI container support subtitle stream (because http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compari...tainer_formats) .

what should I add during conversion ('-newsubtitle WhatNext' ) ?
