Adding Root to log in screen

When I log in to Mandrake 10 KDE I have my user account, Coop. I don't have the GUI option to login under Root. How can I add that?

Reason: Sometimes when I want to go to a directory or install something I need to be Root. Sometimes in the GUI it asks for root password. I obviously do as much as I can GUI (I know how to do it at the command line). I understand the ramifications of logging in as Root.

Please keep it simple.

i think there's a box you can uncheck under the users area. something like hidden users as best i recall. hope that helps.
good luck.

presuming that you're using kde (mandrake's default), then you'd normally go into the kde control centre (not the mandrake one) - erm, if you're using mandrake 10, that'd be "Configure my desktop".

Start it up, then system>login manager when that open's, hit the "administrator mode" button at the bottom of the screen.

then just click the users tab and uncheck root as a hidden user, close/quit etc and on log out/reboot you should have root login option - oh, you can also change/choose a different icon for the user(s) or root when you are changing root's login.
