adding packages from RH cd2 using an iso
I installed redhat linux 9 from my HD using isos and it works fine, but I need to install the development package to compile something from source. When I use the add/remove package option, select development package and do update, it asks for CD2 (which I don't have, having installed from isos.) I don't have a CD burner so I can't burn the isos, is there a way to install the package from the iso file I have or is there another way around the problem??

Hi Andy,
Just an idea. Can you get to http://shrike.freshrpms.net/ . I think from here you might be able to install the rpm that you need in order to allow you to further compile from source. As a way around the cd's I will look into this further. Good luck Micko |
I found out how to mount an iso file as a drive (mount -o loop shrike-i386-disc2.iso /mnt/cdrom) and I can look through the files but add/remove packages still asks for the cd. Does anyone know how to make the program look in the iso file (or where I've mounted it)?
