Adding Linux as OS on rebuilt computer.

I've taken parts of a number of computers that have craped out to build a new computer. It has no internet, and i would like to use linux as it's OS. The hard drive that is being used has win95 on it. can some body point me in the right direction?

Since it's likely a lot of old hardware and the like, I would start with a "Live" CD to see what's gonna suite your fancy. Type "Linux Live CD" in google... there are many.

These live CDs will let you boot to linux (on the CD) and tinker around without having to install it.

Download a linux distribution cd, such as ubuntu, kubuntu, mandriva, suse, or knoppix. Put the cd in, change your bios to boot from cd, and reboot your machine. Run the installator (it should give you some sort of menu), and follow the instructions on screen. It may or may not work, since some old hardware doesn't have linux drivers. Try the different distros to see which one works/is best. If you have any questions, just post them here.
