Adding Items to the Menu

I am simply trying to learn how to add items to the menu and also how to add icons to the task bar for easy access. I run slackware. Any help would be great thanks.

To add items to the menu you need to run "kmenuedit" (it should be listed somewhere in the menu as "Menu Editor"). You can also right click on the start button and select "Menu Editor".

To add icons to the taskbar, drag them from wherever you want to copy them from e.g. your menu or desktop and drop them on the panel.

If you're using gnome, google on gnome menu edit
If you're using another window manager, see the help or google for it.
