adding epson t1000 printer
 

I am a Linux student. I just loaded Slackware version 2.4.22. I would like to add an Epson action printer t1000. I would like to know the steps to add this printer. I would prefer to add by command line, ie. editing /etc/printcap and any other files that need editing. When I ran checkpc -f I got;

warning -lp: cannot open lp device '/dev/lp0'-permissions

even though I set permissions on this file.

also;

warning- cannot stat 'of' filter '/usr/spool/lp0/epson' - no such file or directory

when I try mkdir, system will not allow me to create.
