add printer queue launcher to panel

Just getting set up with Mint 16 Cinnamon after 10 years with xp- and lovin' it. I'd like to set up an icon in the panel to display a printer queue in case I want to cancel, etc. a print job. I've googled it and see a few things but seems pretty vague to me. I'm not real "up" on the Linux layout and terminology yet- the learning curve is pretty steep right now....so I need some pretty straightforward and simple guidance. Thanks in advance for any and all posts.

Hello and welcome!

Which desktop environment you have i.e. KDE, Gnome or any other? I am not sure about Mint 16 Cinnamon, but you can add a shortcut of printer to panal by right click on panal and select 'add or remove shortcut' option. A new windows will open with list of available shortcuts. You can then customize the panal.

...you might have to install the applet first.
just make a search in your favorite packet manager (or software center, or ...)
