Add on Sound blaster card PC16 not working

I am new to Kubuntu but so far love it. I am running a duel boot with XP and Kubuntu. The sound card works with XP but I can't get the drivers to work with Kubuntu. I was wondering if my sound card is compatible with Kubuntu. It is an older Sound Blaster PCI 16 card.
Also if I was lead to the driver for this card, how would I install it?

Apparently the SB16 is not supported by ALSA, so you have to blacklist ALSA and use OSS for audio.

SB16 not working
Well I would try your suggestion but when I type in the first line I get a "No command found".
That is as far as I can get.

Any suggestions?

so you don't have gedit installed ? it's just a program to edit text files, use a different editor.. nano, pico, kate, vim, emacs, other..
