add new user with same permissions?

Hi

I have just installed Ubuntu on a machine at work and wondered how i can add a new user with the same permissions as the "main user"? I added a user via the "users&groups" gui but sorting permissions looks tricky.

What permissions you are talking about? if you mean sudo, you can do "sudo visudo" from your existing user and add the following to the bottom of it.

"new_user's_name ALL=(ALL) ALL"

google "ubuntu sudoers" for more info, there is an help.ubuntu page for it.
