Add Local User to Domain Users Group

Hi

I have a local user, proivck, which is used to connect to a local CVS repository in an application. The user is not part of the Domain Users group, but needs to be to be able to write to a folder that real domain users have access to.

How can I add the proivck user to the Domain Users group without creating the user in the domain first?

I am using Red Hat 6.3.

Thanks!

Simon

Hi

I managed to work this one out for myself, although its not a particularly nice way to do it.

I logged in as myself and listed all of the gids and names. Domain Users was the first cab off the rank so I took that gid and added it to the proivck user in /etc/passwd.

As I said, not very nice, so if anyone has any better suggestions I would like to hear them!

Cheers

Simon
