Unhappy Add gmodule-export-2.0 to PKG_CONFIG_PATH

ERROR MESSAGE:

Checking for gmodule-export-2.0
pkg-config --errors-to-stdout --print-errors --cflags --libs gmodule-export-2.0
Package gmodule-export-2.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `gmodule-export-2.0.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'gmodule-export-2.0' found
not found

I can physically see the gmodule-export-2.0 in file browser under the downloads directory. New to this whole thing so please, help a brotha out.

Thanks,

Welcome to LQ!!! Sorry you didn't get an answer. Have you solved it?

Post: echo $PKG_CONFIG_PATH

Also, try web-researching the error.
(Sorry, I only know 1% of Linux; my L2THCtech provided that echo)
(And my internet is only 56KB/sec)

Hi deathevn5,

Welcome to LQ!

Given the error, and that you say the file is in downloads, you could try
Code:
$ PKG_CONFIG_PATH='$PKG_CONFIG_PATH:/home/user_name/Downloads'
and try whatever you're doing again.
