Add Additional Hard Drives

I am trying to add 2 addtional hard drives to my Mandrake Linux 9.2 distro. I am able to create and format the partitions using DiskDrake. However, once I logout and back in with my normal user, the drives are not accessible. I can see them, but I can't use them.

I know this is some sort of security or mount point issue but I am unable to work it out.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks in Advance
David

If they are Linux partitions, just use chmod & chown:
chmod 775 [mount point (when it's mounted)]
chown root.users [mount point]

For Win drives, you edit the /etc/fstab

Thanks,

I will give this a try. Does Mandrake 9.2 provide a graphical way to perform these tasks? Just curious.

Thanks Again

To change partitions in Konqueror (as root becasue the file was originally root), just right-click the file/folder, then click properties, the click the 'permissions tab'. '775' = 'owner:rwx group:rwx world:r-x'. The '-' is the checkbox that's supposed to be blank.
For the fstab: Open mandrake control center. Somewhere in the disk configuration, look for options for your Win drive. Check the 'umask=0' checkbox.
