Active Directory authentication with Linux

I have two separate Active Directory forests. Users are in one forests, Linux computers are in the other one. Users want access to Linux computers in the other forest. There is one way trust established. The authentication doesnt work for Linux, it only works for Windows. Any idea why it doesnt work for windows?

Dunno if this is much help, but the users in one forest will be authenticating to their forest, then being trusted in the other forest, that is why it works in Windows. Are the Linux devices participating in AD in their forest? Are they running Samba? More detail is needed
