Activate color in [ OK ] and [ FAILED ] during booting

I use Kubuntu 7.10 In /boot/grub/menu.lst I removed the splash command in the kernel line

PHP Code:
title           Ubuntu 7.10kernel 2.6.22-14-generic
# The splash like in the following is for the presentation screen of Ubuntu
#kernel         /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.22-14-generic root=UUID=44d34aca-a862-4a4c-99b8-b2ba480527cb ro quiet splash
kernel         /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.22-14-generic root=UUID=44d34aca-a862-4a4c-99b8-b2ba480527cb ro quiet
because I want to see what Kubuntu is loading everytime I restart my computer.

I can see it perfectly, However, the [ OK ] and [ FAILED ] do not show in color, like I have many times seen in other distributions. I like that color. There is some way to activate it?
