ACPI on ACER ASPIRE 5050 HEELLLPPP!

Hi, my inglish is very bad so i try doing my best.

My problem is the ACPI functions on a ACER ASPIRE 5050-4697, at first time i can´t make my atheros wifi work, later i see that de drivers work but the wifi bord is off, in a brazilian forum i discover that the acpi tourn on and off the wifi bord and if the acpi don´t work the wifi bort don´t...
i try with diferent distributions but none work.
If someone know how to make it work i will be VERY VERY HAPPY

I suggest checking your BIOS settings to see if the default for the card is set to off. If so, set it to on.

thanks masonm but i allready tryed that, and the bios don´t have any option tu enable/dissable the wifi or set the default :S ... the bios of this machine es strage, ugly, basic and unuseless. In this bios you can´t do anything in low level (¿¿so why this have a bios??).
Im very angry to acer.
