Acessing memory controller of ram
 
hi folks,

iam using redhat linux in my pc, as part of my study i need to read memory controller(RAM) configuration through user space APIs can anybody suggest me best way of getting those.

iam trying for the same in internet but i didnt find anything interesting yet. please help if you know anything regarding this.

i need to perform RAM read/write test so iam search for that if anybody know this thing please share with me

What kind of configuration information are you looking for exactly? vmstat will show usage. Items in the proc filesystem will show various kernel memory configuration parameters. Shouldn't the text book for your course contain this information?

but actually my req. is to detect ECC bit errors(parity errors) of main memory

is there any tool/method/command to detect this..? if so please let me know.
