acer one linpus linux newbeeeee
 

how you all doin,
I just bought an acer one with linux linpus on it for my kid, but she dont like it, so i got it.
Question is how do you download stuff on to it, i tried to download avg and skype for linux and they appeared in my download file, but when i click on them they dont load i dont know how to get them to load with an icon.is the procedure for downloading the same for all as i was trying to get pidgen or summit like that as kid uses msn not beebo as i thought.I am not a hot computer wizz i check e mails and do a bit of word processing so be gentle with me I can however follow instructions.
The avg asks which application i want to open it with.and in my files short cut i have things like libnss3.so,libfreebl3.so etc that do the asking application thing when clicked on.i am lost.any help would be a treat.or web site that has talk throughs

Install ubuntu. As for the Linpus , I didnt like it as well. Every single programm for it is outdated. Link for the Ubuntu install is here : http://help.ubuntu.com/community/AspireOne .
