Cool Acer Aspire Network problem

AFter several attempts of using the posted solution which says you should type the following : rm-rf ~/.gconf/system/networking. The mistake made by many people is that they put space in between the rm and rf.
Alternatively, right click on the desktop and then scroll down to Network then gftp.
On the left hand pane, click on the .gconf folder - system- networking- connections. delete all instances of network(folder 1,2 &3) and then restart. It does work that way. Enjoyy....

Not quite sure I follow.

Code:
rm -Rf
means:

rm = remove
-Rf (-rf) = recursive, force

That is, "rm -Rf" will remove a directory and all files and directories within it without questioning you.
