Account Blackout

Hey I have Linux for my PC and when I log into my Admi. Account my music player opens up automatically, and when I close out, a program called desk top recorder opens up. Now I do not know what the desk top recorder is, though when I close that out I'm left with an empty black screen. I also have no command imput alloted, and I can not open my task menu. The weird thing is, is I have a second user that doesn't have Administrative control, but has most control. This user works just fine. I'm utterly confused on what has happened, and what to do. I'm currently in scooling right now and have no way of paying for this problem to be fixed. Though on the bright side I do know a thing or two about computers. So if I could get some advice that would be awsome...

Thing I've tried already

I have tried a system Diagnostic to see if any program have failed\stalled\ or crashed on the second user.
I have tried to reset back to factory setting from the boot up menu.
I have tried looking trough the boot up setting and seeing if there was a problem with any software or programs.

That is not a distro. What distro of Linux did you install???
e.g., Ubuntu, Mint, Mageia, Fedora???
And which version of said distro???
e.g., Ubuntu 12.04, Ubuntu 12.10, Ubuntu 13.04???
And what desktop environment are you using???
e.g., Gnome, KDE, XFCE, LXDE???
Also, was your install a 32 bit or 64 bit version???

I have a Linux Kubuntun 12.04 and I believe a 64 bit. But I manage to make a new admin user and deleted the crashed user. Though I have another question if I may. I have recently downloaded Minecraft, and I have JDK Java 7 Runtime. I have to minecraft.jar in my home folder, so I right clicked on it and and open it with java 7 runtime. The pops up in the task bar along with the mouse symbol indicating that it's loading, but then it stops and nothing happens. =/ I've got no idea what to do now. Can you help?
