Accidentally hitting a key that changes the font/typing method?

i got a laptop for christmas with an extremely small keyboard which may be partially to blame - but when im typing i must be accidentally keying in some command that changes the font/input method to some weird very spaced out html-looking font? this happens in both webbrowsers (i use firefox) & in the word processing program - if i close the programs and reopen them, it's back to normal. it's horribly annoying - what on earth could i possibly be doing to cause this? thanks SO much to anyone with any ideas!

Is it really Firefox?

If you open Firefox and open Edit, Preferences, Content you can see what font Firefox is using. The next time this happens in Firefox do the same and see if you are in fact changing Firefox.

You have not told us which linux on which laptop you are using. You might do that, and if you have not, google for changing fonts, fonts, etc. for your linux distro. Read this for your next post.

Is this an Asus EeePC running Xandros Linux? What you are hitting is Shift + Space, it is a very useless feature that I have no idea why they added.
