accessing windows shares going very slow
 

I have a LAN set up with 4 windows 2003 servers and 1 xp machine and my fedora 8 box. When I connect to the main server where all the shares are kept, it takes a very long time for anything to show up on the screen. Then when I click on the on any of the shares it pops up with password authenitcation. I put in the password then it sits there thinking for about 5 minutes before it tells me there is nothing in there (and there is nothing in any of the folders). Why is it taking so long?

on a side note. No matter what user name i use to connect to the server through windows share it always allows me to access the same things, even though they all have different permissions. Any ideas?

Have some info out of your logs would be helpful, both here and in Launchpad.
