accessing windows networked printer

hi all
can't access windows networked printer in linux. whenever i try to access that shared folder it shows me "ls: .:Stale NFS file handle", other windows files are easily accessed and modified but printing is not working.

What make your printer is? And have you installed the printer on Linux? Though the sharing will be needed, but you will need separate drivers for Linux.
But this information is not enough.
What is your printer? Is is connected to Xp? What is Linux distribution? Have you enabled unix printing support in windows?

where localhost is your hostname

You will need to install the printer on you machine as well. What have you done so far? And where is the problem? RH9 is old and if it lacks printer drivers then it is not shocking news. You will need to look out for drivers on canon site if they support.
I have canon MF4100 attached to xp and it is working on my Ubuntu and I needed to install the drivers from canon site.

No. You do not need to make your machine a samba server.
Add the printer as you would normally do. But instead choose Windows printer and go through the steps. Look for the driver for your printer and add it. You should be ok. If that does not work then you will need to allow print services for unix.
