Lightbulb accessing my home computer from remote location

I was just wondering if anyone knew how i could connect to my computer from a remote location. I want to it to visually appear as if I am sitting at my terminal.

By saying "I want it to visually appear as if I am sitting at my terminal," I assume you're meaning that you actually want to control your machine graphically (through X) rather than just via telnet or ssh. You can try VNC, but don't expect it to be very fast.
