Accessing EMail from desktop client(outlook/thunderbird)
Hey everyone
I set up and email server using dovecot and sendmail and am currently accessing all email from SquirrelMail web based client. I am looking to move from using SM to a desktop based client, specifically Thunderbird or Outlook. Where abouts would I find all the settings needed to transfer over? It usually asks the name of the pop3/imap server such as pop3.site.com or imap.site.com. Is it standard to be just pop3.site.com? Would i just type that in? Also, what about the SMTP out server? Is this located in a config file somewhere? Not so bright when it comes to this  |
pop and smtp server names would be the DNS name of your mail server..
you could also use the IP address of your mail server for those entries... |
