access linux files in windows


I have a usb drive which is formatted in linux ext3 format which is used in a Digital Video recorder for recording video . I want to just copy them onto my windows pc running XP for backup purposes.

Please help me

Windows cannot read ext3 formatted partitions. Recommend you consider using a Linux machine to copy from that USB drive to another USB/external hdd that is formated fat/vfat or copying those files to DVD if they will fit.

OR, network the linux and the windows machine using samba or simple ftp and copy the files over via network.

you can use Ext2Fsd (Ext2 File System Driver) which help to mount Ext2/3/4 system in windows syst...
