access internet in redhat 5.4 & centos 5.5
 
hi friends,
i am unable to access internet in linux editions (redhat 5.4 & centos 5.5) recently i have taken a reliance internet connection but the think is i didn't get any ipaddress from reliance, but i accessing internet in window 7 and i have triple boot. pls any one give the solution..

I would guess that your ethernet connection is not defined as 'DHCP' so that it requests and address.. what does /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 look like? What happens if you try:

- ifdown eth0 -- ifup eth0
- /etc/init.d/network restart (that may be 'networking'.. )

rhel/cent is not designed for the very new Linux user so most things need to be done manually by hand

a good "new user friendly" Linux distro would be
Mint Linux
or
Ubuntu
