"Accessing files" can be done in numerous ways ...

Easiest (and fastest) would be using nfs. SuSEs YaST2 should
have an option to help you defined these kind of things. If
you can't find it, have a read of "man exports".

If you ever wanted to add windows machines to the network and
share files with those you would want to go samba.

If you just want to shuffle about individual files on a one-off
basis, use scp (sftp).
