access anonymous smb share from Linux

I can access a Centos samba file server share from XP Home but not from the same client machine running Fedora 10. I am using a D-Link wireless router for my Home network and can access the internetn from Fedora using either eth0 or wireless.

The XP Home windows network server properties only list the work group name "Home2"and host name "Fileserver". The properties do not include the share directory name.

When I enter the hostname "Fileserver" from in the Gnome "connect to server" GUI I get "Failed to retrieve share list from server". I get the same message when I click on the Windows Network icon in the Gnome Network GUI.

If I use the connect to server/Windows Share GUI and enter the file share directory I get Cannot display location "smb://fileserver/ibfiles/ Can not mount Windows share"

How do I access this anonymous smb share from Fedora?

Thanks for your help.

On your Fedora box, try to smb mount it with the IP address of the CentOS box instead of 'fileserver'.
